SCPOR’s Data Services

Health data is essential to patient-oriented research, and Saskatchewan has a wealth of it. But because this information is held by several organizations, accessing this data can be challenging and time-consuming.

Through collaboration with its partners, SCPOR is working to enhance the quality and access to this data for patient-oriented research teams, who will be the first users of the Health Research Data Platform - Saskatchewan. The improvements made to the accessibility and quality of health data in Saskatchewan will build capacity that can be leveraged for all users of health data.

Health Research Data Platform - Saskatchewan (HRDP-SK)

Through matched funding by CIHR and 8 partner organizations, SCPOR has allocated resources to develop the Health Research Data Platform - Saskatchewan, or HRDP - SK, which will be Saskatchewan’s first fully integrated and streamlined multi-agency data access platform for health research and analysis.

The HRDP-SK streamlines the process for researchers to access health data. The data will be housed in a central repository and governed by a Master Health Data Sharing Agreement (MHDSA). HRDP-SK users will be supported with consultations and training. They will be provided access to extensive resources, including a data dictionary and database overviews, which will support increased data literacy and effective use of data.
