On Defining 'Actionable' High-Cost Health Care Use

A small proportion of the population consumes the majority of health care resources. Using the ‘Population Grouping Methodology’ developed by the Canadian Institute for Health Information, researchers from Saskatchewan’s Health Quality Council along with colleagues from numerous Universities and institutes across Canada sought to understand high-cost health care users by mutually exclusive health profile groups in Saskatchewan’s provincial population.
